Peachy adores the Scrambled Eggs with Oak Smoked Salmon, Crispy Potato Cake, Creme Fraiche and Caviar
As you might have noticed, we are pro-chandelier and pro-Irish...and Kings' Carriage House started off as a Peachy's Pick in 2011. Though you cannot dine there with fewer than a party of 12 now, you CAN go for tea! And so we did as it had been far too long since we visited this beacon of excellence, a diamond on the Upper East Side. Thank you Elon Musk and Grok, Peachy's newest love, for taking our suggestion and putting this classy hotspot on Grokipedia, and it even references our reviews along with Zagat.
Your life is too short not to have tea at Kings' Carriage House!
The winning family behind this gem: Paul Farrell, Elizabeth Farrell and Liz King
Everything is just gorgeous here and you will immediately fall in love with the atmosphere. Though Paul is a devoted Dubliner and was born too late for James Joyce to write about him, the stellar team at Kings' Carriage House is devoted to the pursuit of excellence in the English language: the apostrophe is in the right place here and we love it! The tea menu:
You could have afternoon tea or go all the way and have High Tea, which is what of course Peachy did, and she happily sipped on a perfectly steeped English/Irish Breakfast tea. We are absolutely sure all of the Deegan girls to the right would have loved this place and they are always with us in spirit.
This tea experience is just the thing to wake you up if you were out until the wee hours of the morning engaging in shenanigans, which Peachy will never be publishing on! Or, up quite late watching the Knicks in the finals...
The tiered presentation is truly spectacular, and ultimately this column has been underpopulated as of late because we think the Hotels are not still engaging in this high level of experience they are devoted to here at Kings' Carriage House.
Kings' Carriage House is simply the best for Tea anywhere in all of New York City or even the tri-state area for that matter.
Everything is personalized and crafted with the utmost style and care.
On top, please say enchante to:
Cucumber with Chive Butter
Tarragon Chicken Salad
Dilled Eggs with Caviar
Goat Cheese Mouse Tartelettes with Honey and Fig
and Peachy's personal favorite:
Pinwheels of Oak Smoked Scottish Salmon (which does have a vegetarian substitute if that is what you are looking for)
Every element of this decorative feast is dressed to the nines and we believe has wide appeal to our entire audience.
It's gorgeous from every angle, and much more importantly, absolutely delicious.
The piping hot scones are a wonder to behold!
Cream and Jam come served in their own respective dishes, ready to pleasantly pounce on the light goodness of the elegant scones. This is the middle tier.
Life is uncertain, so perhaps eat the dessert first!
The third tier boasts:
Baby Poppy Seed Tea Cakes with Lemon Glaze
Baby Dark Belgian Chocolate Pistachio Tea Cakes
Bourbon Caramel Pecan Bars
Coconut Cake with Apricot
Five entree choices await you: pick one!
Peachy has eaten salmon in Ireland, Scotland (she did not reside in Scotland but she visited) and England and this is totally authentic. Scrambled Eggs with Oak Smoked Salmon are a revelation of exquisite Irish talent in edible formation and it luxuriates upon a stunning crispy potato cake (obviously no one does potatoes better than the IRISH) joined by spectacular creme fraiche and caviar.
Tea at Kings' Carriage House continues to be Highly Recommended by Whom You Know.
