#CruisingPeachy #CulturedPeachy #ZoraArkusDuntov @CorvetteRacing @corvettemuseum Zora Arkus-Duntov’s Only Corvette, Now Fully Preserved, Will Debut at National Corvette Museum’s 31st Anniversary

After a meticulous, multi-year preservation effort, the only Corvette ever owned by Zora Arkus-Duntov, the legendary “Godfather of the Corvette,” will make its public debut during the National Corvette Museum’s 31st Anniversary Celebration, August 28–30.

Zora’s personal 1974 custom two-tone blue Corvette Stingray, a retirement gift from Chevrolet, has been preserved with surgical precision by the Museum’s Collections and Preservation team. The body was carefully lifted from the chassis to allow full access to the frame, suspension, and underbody. Each component was documented, cleaned, stabilized, and reinstalled to preserve its originality. Even the creased leather armrest on the driver’s side, stressed from years of Zora’s elbow resting while he drove, was left untouched.

“This car represents Corvette history in its purest form,” said Robert Maxhimer, National Corvette Museum Director of Curatorial Affairs & Education. “Preserving Zora’s personal Corvette is the first of many in-depth preservation projects that will ensure our collection lasts for generations.”

Zora Arkus-Duntov, inducted into the Corvette Hall of Fame in 1998, was instrumental in transforming the Corvette into a world-class performance car. His personal 1974 Corvette Stingray is equipped with a 454 big block engine, automatic transmission, air conditioning, power steering and brakes, and aluminum wheels. These features reflect his expertise in achieving a balance between engineering precision and performance.

The car was originally painted silver, then repainted green. Later, Zora brought it to a friend who offered to give it a new paint job. Unaware of the final plan, Zora was surprised to receive the vehicle in a custom two-tone blue livery, complete with his initials, “ZAD,” on the doors. He was pleased with the result. His wife, Elfi, commemorated the moment by creating a painting of Zora standing beside the Corvette. A small decal reading “Zora Arkus-Duntov Engineering Center” remains on the rear deck, serving as a quiet tribute to his legacy.
The completed preservation will be unveiled as the cornerstone of a reimagined Corvette Hall of Fame exhibition, launching during the Anniversary weekend. Attendees will get exclusive insight into the preservation process during expert-led sessions, featuring the next generation of Museum restorers who brought this iconic Corvette back to life.

About The National Corvette Museum: The National Corvette Museum, a 501(c)3, not-for-profit foundation, is where Adrenaline Meets Tradition by serving as an educational and research institution with the mission of educating worldwide audiences on the evolution of the Corvette—America’s Sports Car—through the collection, preservation, and celebration of its legacy. Located a mile from General Motors' Bowling Green Assembly Plant, which has manufactured every Corvette since 1981, the Museum Campus features 115,000 square feet of Exhibit and event space, more than 100 historically significant Corvettes, 50,000 Corvette artifacts, and the NCM Motorsports Park. #PatrioticPeachy #CharitablePeachy ABC Supply helps raise $4.7 Million to Build Adapted Homes for Injured Veterans

Indy 500 spotlight fuels support for Homes For Our Troops, raising awareness and providing specially adapted custom homes for severely injured post-9/11 Veterans nationwide.

ABC Supply Co., Inc., has announced that $4.7 million was raised for Homes For Our Troops (HFOT) as part of a significant fundraising effort in May for National Military Appreciation Month and in conjunction with the 109th Running of the Indianapolis 500, presented by Gainbridge. ABC Supply, an HFOT Platinum Partner, matched all donations up to $1 million for the entire month of May.

As racing fans tuned in on Sunday, May 25th, to one of the most-watched Indy 500 events in nearly two decades, several HFOT Veterans were invited to take part in the weekend’s thrilling activities. They received exclusive access to a garage tour of the No. 14 AJ Foyt Racing Chevrolet driven by Santino Ferrucci, walked the iconic Yard of Bricks, and enjoyed a premier view of the patriotic, stars-and-stripes-clad HFOT Indy car racing to an impressive fifth-place finish.

“We are beyond grateful for ABC Supply's sponsorship and support during the 2025 Indy 500,” says HFOT President/CEO Brigadier General, USA (Ret) Tom Landwermeyer. “Their generous $1 million match was instrumental to raising $4.7 million during the month of May, and the patriotic livery of the #14 AJ Foyt Racing Chevy gave incredible visibility to our mission of Building Homes and Rebuilding Lives.”

ABC Supply has ardently supported HFOT since 2020 and donated the design of the Indy car to generate awareness of the organization’s mission of building and donating specially adapted custom homes nationwide for severely injured post-9/11 Veterans, enabling them to rebuild their lives. HFOT has built over 410 specially adapted homes since its inception in 2004.

“Giving back to the community and honoring our Veterans is at the heart of who we are,” said Mike Jost, president and chief operating officer at ABC Supply. “The generosity we’ve seen throughout this campaign has been truly inspiring, and we are grateful to everyone who contributed to making a real difference for our Veterans.”

“It was an honor to drive the Homes For Our Troops car in the Indianapolis 500 and extremely rewarding to know that they not only met their goal but exceeded it—again! Raising over four million dollars is incredible, and it will help a lot of our severely injured post-911 Veterans,” says driver Santino Ferrucci. “Those funds will go a very long way in building multiple houses for them, helping them financially and getting their lives back on track. At the end of the day, AJ Foyt Racing had a great Indianapolis 500 and Homes For Our Troops had an amazing one as well!”

Those who missed the donation matching window but would still like to support HFOT are encouraged to do so. Donations can be made by visiting https://www.hfotusa.org/.

About Homes For Our Troops (HFOT)

Homes For Our Troops (HFOT) is a publicly funded 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization that builds and donates specially adapted custom homes nationwide to severely injured post-9/11 Veterans, to enable them to rebuild their lives. Most of these Veterans have sustained life-altering injuries including multiple limb amputations, partial or full paralysis, and/or severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). These homes restore some of the freedom and independence our Veterans sacrificed while defending our country, and enable them to focus on their family, recovery, and rebuilding their lives. HFOT builds these homes where the Veteran chooses to live, and continues its relationship with the Veterans after home delivery to assist them with rebuilding their lives. Homes For Our Troops has built and donated over 405 homes in 45 states and currently has 80 active projects in various stages of construction nationwide. Since HFOT’s inception in 2004, nearly 90 cents of every dollar spent has gone directly to program services for Veterans.

#NewYorkNotes #HealthyPeachy @RecordingAcad MUSICARES LAUNCHES THE WELLNESS IN MUSIC 2025 SURVEY

What Does It Really Mean to Be “Well” in the Music Industry?

MusiCares asks this question every year — because no one understands the demands of a life in music like the professionals who live it. And in 2025, the stakes feel higher than ever.

Over the past year, hurricanes across the Southeast and wildfires in Los Angeles devastated music communities. Countless professionals — from session players and tour crews to venue staff and engineers — are still working to recover financially, mentally, and physically. These crises didn’t just impact homes or gear. They reshaped lives.

That’s why the MusiCares Wellness in Music Survey is back. This annual check-in is one of our most important tools — giving us the data we need to listen more deeply, respond more effectively, and create programs that meet the real-world needs of music professionals today.

This year, conversations around wellness in the music industry have taken on new urgency. From speeches to op-eds to online discourse, the spotlight is finally turning toward the realities that music professionals have long navigated — realities that often remain invisible to the public.

Unpredictable, gig-based income. High out-of-pocket healthcare costs. Long hours on the road, often in a new city each day. These challenges don’t just affect performers — they affect touring crews, engineers, stagehands, and every behind-the-scenes worker who keeps the music going.

The truth is: life in music isn’t just challenging — it’s often destabilizing in ways that most traditional workers never encounter. From a lack of benefits and paid leave to the mental toll of creative burnout, the risks are real — and they’re widespread.

Awareness is growing. But turning that awareness into action takes more than headlines — it takes data. That’s why this survey matters.

In 2024, nearly 2,800 music professionals responded to our survey. Here’s what they told us:78% earned $100,000 or less — lower than national household averages
69% couldn’t comfortably cover expenses through music work alone
53% said their income hadn’t stabilized post-pandemic
47% and 44% cited financial concerns as a direct cause of stress and anxiety, respectively
65% were not confident about the trajectory of the music industry
87% had health insurance, but only 54% had dental
78% skipped hearing screenings, despite working in high-decibel environments
70% of those 45+ missed colonoscopy screenings
62% of women 24+ missed cervical cancer screenings
60% of those under 45 skipped vision screenings
8.3% had serious thoughts of suicide — compared to 5% nationally Of those, 15.1% made a plan and 3.5% attempted — far above national rates
36% reported using marijuana or marijuana-derived products in the past month Among those users, 36% reported daily use
These aren’t just numbers. They’re signals — and they shape the programs we build.

Thanks to last year’s participants, MusiCares expanded telehealth support for addiction recovery, introduced financial coaching, covered childcare costs, and increased access to preventive care services, including mammograms and cervical screenings.

Help us reach every corner of the music community.
Please consider sharing the survey with your readership and/or social following. Below are links to the survey in both English and Spanish, along with our social media toolkit, also available in both languages.

#CharitablePeachy Susan G. Komen® Announces New Date, Location for 2025 Miami/Ft. Lauderdale MORE THAN PINK Walk

Annual Event to Fuel Research Advancements and Strengthen the Florida Community with Vital Support

Susan G. Komen®, the world’s leading breast cancer organization, today announced a new date and location for the 2025 Miami/Ft. Lauderdale MORE THAN PINK Walk that will take place this fall on Saturday, October 4 at the Miami-Dade County Fair and Exposition, uniting survivors, families and advocates in a powerful movement to fund research, provide patient support and drive meaningful change for those impacted by breast cancer.

Every 12 minutes, a woman in the U.S. dies from breast cancer—and rates are rising among younger women. In Florida alone, more than 23,000 women will be diagnosed in 2025, and over 3,000 will lose their lives to the disease. While the death rate has dropped 44% since 1989, too many still lack access to the care that could save them. Experts estimate up to one-third of breast cancer deaths are preventable with timely, high-quality treatment. Funds raised at the Race/Walk fuel Komen’s mission—supporting patients with free navigation, financial aid, emotional care, and lifesaving research

“We are excited to bring the community together at a new date and location this year,” said Sean Gross, Executive Director, Florida Susan G. Komen. “This event isn’t just about raising funds—it’s about saving lives, ensuring equity in care, and standing with every person impacted by this disease. We invite everyone to walk with us, fight with us, and help create a future without breast cancer.”

Additionally, Komen is thrilled to announce that Jessica Williams, a respected community leader, will serve as the Chair of this year’s Walk.

"I am truly honored to serve as the 2025 Miami/Fort Lauderdale MORE THAN PINK WALK, Executive Leadership Committee Chair,” said Williams. “This cause is deeply personal to me, and I am proud to stand alongside a community so committed to creating hope, empowering survivors, and funding the fight for a cure for breast cancer. Together, we will make an extraordinary impact, one step, one story, and one life at a time."

Awarded through NYC Pride’s “Pride Gives Back” program, the grants will help expand services and strengthen advocacy efforts for the LGBTQIA+ community, targeting under-resourced populations including LatinX, Black/brown, Afro- and Indo-Caribbean, food- and housing-insecure and trans individuals.

NYC Pride’s 2025 “Pride Gives Back” grant awards include:$10,000 to National Harm Reduction Coalition, a queer and trans-led harm reduction collective dedicated to creating safer, more affirming spaces for LGB/TGNCNB+ people who use drugs and engage in sex work.

“We’re excited to uplift these nonprofits and community organizations that are doing the work day-in and day-out to improve the lives of queer New Yorkers,” said NYC Pride Co-Chair Kazz Alexander.

“In a challenging economic and political climate, LGBTQIA+ nonprofits and community groups are in need of our support more than ever,” added NYC Pride Co-Chair Michele Irimia.

Since 1984, NYC Pride has awarded more than $25 million to bolster local LGBTQIA+ services and strengthen advocacy efforts through Pride Gives Back. It is one example of a NYC Pride initiative that is threatened by our budget shortfall, which is why we launched a community fundraising campaign to help fill this year’s funding gap. The Folded Flag Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to honoring the legacy of America's fallen service members by helping their families with financial support for education, announced the Salute to Service Gala will be held Thursday, Sept. 18, 2025, at The Willard InterContinental in Washington, D.C.

For the first time, The Folded Flag Foundation will host their annual Salute to Service Gala in our Nation's Capital. All proceeds from the event will go directly to providing educational scholarships and support grants to the spouses and children of the U.S. military and government personnel who died as a result of hostile action or in an accident related to U.S. combat operations.

Guests will enjoy an evening of fine dining and a curated selection of wines, and the opportunity to connect with fellow supporters, all in honor of Gold Star families across the country. The evening will also feature both silent and live auctions, offering exclusive, unique experiences. Including hearing from a five-time recipient of The Folded Flag Foundation's Gold Star Scholarship, Austin English. Austin's father, U.S. Army Captain Shawn L. English, was killed in action in 2006 during a deployment to Iraq. Austin will share how this loss shaped his world today and how The Folded Flag Foundation is helping him achieve his goals and honor his father's legacy.

"Folded Flag's annual Salute to Service Gala is our way to honor the brave men and women who answered our nation's call in the wake of the 9/11 attacks. We are excited to host this event for the first time in Washington DC.," said Kim Frank, president of The Folded Flag Foundation. "The Folded Flag Foundation is honored to provide scholarships to our nation's Gold Star families so they can receive the educational support to better their lives and enrich their communities."

Founded in 2014 by businessman and NHL team owner Bill Foley, The Folded Flag Foundation was established to honor the legacy of our nation's fallen service members and support their families.  The National Hockey League (NHL), National Hockey League Players’ Association (NHLPA), and the V Foundation for Cancer Research, a top-rated charity dedicated to funding innovative cancer research, are proud to announce that $8.2 million was raised during the 2024-25 season, which is double the amount from the previous year, for Hockey Fights Cancer™ powered by the V Foundation presented by AstraZeneca.

As the preeminent cancer fundraising initiative in professional sports, Hockey Fights Cancer™ will direct over $4.6 million from this season’s campaign to support life-saving cancer research through the V Foundation across NHL markets in North America. Additionally, over $2.4 million was raised by NHL Clubs for local cancer-related charities across North America, and more than $1.1 million was raised by the American Cancer Society and Canadian Cancer Society through HFC Assist to aid in patient services.

“For more than a quarter-century, the entire National Hockey League family has dedicated itself to the mission of Hockey Fights Cancer, increasing awareness and raising millions of dollars to support families and fund research,” said NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman. “By partnering with the V Foundation and AstraZeneca two years ago, the NHL and NHLPA exponentially increased Hockey Fights Cancer’s reach and fund-raising prowess. We are thrilled with what we accomplished together this past season and are excited to see what our teamwork can do in the coming years in our quest to vanquish cancer.”

“Our collective partnership with the NHL, the V Foundation and AstraZeneca has been incredibly valuable in creating a larger, united voice across hockey to raise funds and awareness as we aim to eradicate cancer,” said Marty Walsh, NHLPA Executive Director. “We are proud of the work our groups have done in this field, while remaining committed to continuing to make Hockey Fights Cancer a priority to benefit our greater hockey community.”

Since the V Foundation was named the official North American fundraising partner in 2023, Hockey Fights Cancer™ has dramatically expanded its reach and impact through the collective efforts of NHL clubs, players, coaches, corporate partners and fans. The V Foundation also ensures that 100% of direct donations it receives go directly to cancer research, thanks to an endowment that covers administrative expenses. Together, in just two years, we have already:Raised over $12 million, thanks to the collective efforts of charitable partners, corporate sponsors, all 32 NHL Clubs and the global hockey community. To date, Hockey Fights Cancer U.S. presenting sponsor AstraZeneca has contributed $800,000 to life-saving cancer research through Hockey Fights Cancer and the V Foundation.
Funded research in 16 NHL markets, with plans for continued expansion.
Awarded 25 research grants to date, including granting in conjunction with every NHL tentpole event this season. More grants will be awarded from this season’s record fundraising in the coming year.
Supported research across a wide range of cancers, including blood, brain, breast, cervical, colorectal, head and neck, lung, melanoma, pancreatic, prostate, and pediatric cancers.

“The momentum of Hockey Fights Cancer™ continues to build, and the impact that will be made through the initiative will be long-lasting,” said V Foundation CEO Shane Jacobson. “We’ve had back-to-back record-breaking years of fundraising, and we are thankful to the NHL, the NHLPA and the entire hockey community for rallying around a worthy cause. Each dollar donated to the V Foundation through Hockey Fights Cancer™ goes directly to cancer research grants that are bettering treatment options, finding cures and saving lives. Together, we are providing hope of a better tomorrow to the millions of families faced with cancer each year.”

In honor of Ben Stelter—a courageous 6-year-old Edmonton Oilers superfan who inspired the hockey world during his battle with glioblastoma—the NHL, NHLPA, and the V Foundation are proud to announce that Hockey Fights Cancer™ will support two additional pediatric cancer research and adult glioblastoma research projects in conjunction with the Stanley Cup Final. This initiative celebrates Ben's legacy and the resilience of all those in the hockey community affected by cancer. Hockey Fights Cancer™ is honored to fund two transformative cancer research projects in the U.S. and Canada, advancing cancer treatments in both pediatric and adult populations.
