#ChampagneWishes #KeepingAmericaonTop #MadeintheUSA #WorldClass Celebrate May with Northwest Passage Gin by #MoverandShaker #CharlesFerri at the #HudsonHouseDistillery

The Distillery at Hudson House

Our craft distillery is located in the cellar of a former monastery and uses custom made equipment from Kothe distilling systems in Germany.

Part of what makes our spirits so special is the water from an onsite old artesian well that taps into a Catskill aquifer. As that water travels to Hudson House, it passes over limestone creating our naturally soft mineral water we call our "Holy Water" which is used in all of our craft spirits.

We use select New York State grains supporting local farms for our spirit production in small batches. Our portfolio consists of Black Creek Bourbon, Black Creek Empire Rye, Black Creek Aniversario Bourbon, Black Creek Devil’s Cut and Altair Vodka. Keep on the look out for our latest releases including a New York State Gin.

A Historic Waterfront Property

In the 1850’s, Archibald Russell, a known philanthropist and founder of Ulster County Savings in Kingston, built a home for his family on an estate known as Glen Albyn. Archibald died in 1871 and his widow, Helen, sold the Glen Albyn estate to the Durkee family in 1885. The Durkee’s were proprietors of one of the country’s leading spice businesses and eventually condiment producers. They purchased the property as a wedding gift for their daughter and owned it until it was purchased in the 1920’s by the Christian Brotherhood and for the next 100+ years, the historic estate served as a working monastery known as the Santa Maria Novitiate.

We are proud to be the 4th owner in over 170 years, and equally proud to introduce, The Hudson House & Distillery. We have committed to restore and maintain the property’s natural beauty in keeping with the original Italian Villa Revival style of architecture. We encourage you to explore the old buildings and truly experience this unique and special property in the heart of Hudson Valley.

CFDA x NY Forward Grant Fund, funded by New York State Department of State and Ralph Lauren Corporation, will help sustain New York City’s historic Garment District

The U.S. Fashion Manufacturing Fund, launched by CFDA with Ralph Lauren Corporation as founding partner, will expand support for fashion manufacturers nationwide

The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) announced two new initiatives designed to strengthen American fashion manufacturing, drive innovation, support workforce development, and promote economic growth in key apparel-producing regions across the country.

These new grant programs mark a landmark commitment: sustaining New York’s Garment District while bolstering U.S. manufacturing nationwide — ensuring that American fashion continues to lead globally through innovation, craftsmanship and community.Share

The CFDA x NY Forward Grant Fund, developed with funding from both the New York State Department of State and Ralph Lauren Corporation (Ralph Lauren), will provide partially matching grants to designers and manufacturers based in New York City’s Garment District. The U.S. Fashion Manufacturing Fund, created with Ralph Lauren as founding partner, will support apparel manufacturers nationwide. Both programs aim to help companies to modernize equipment, expand services, and train workers – building the capacity and resilience of American fashion manufacturing.

These programs build on the success of the CFDA’s Fashion Manufacturing Initiative (FMI), launched in 2013 in affiliation with the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC), Andrew Rosen, and with the long-term support of Ralph Lauren, among others. To date, Ralph Lauren has contributed $2 million as FMI’s Premier Underwriter, enabling grants to 54 factories and positively impacting more than 2,000 jobs.

"Strengthening American manufacturing to ensure designers have local partners has long been at the core of CFDA’s mission," said Steven Kolb, CEO and President of the CFDA. "We are proud to extend our decade-plus work with Ralph Lauren Corporation and expand to a national level while also continuing our local NYC investments alongside our first-ever partnership with the New York State Department of State.”

Together, these new grant programs mark a landmark commitment: sustaining New York’s Garment District while bolstering U.S. manufacturing nationwide — ensuring that American fashion continues to lead globally through innovation, craftsmanship and community.

“Our expanded partnership with the CFDA reflects Ralph Lauren’s enduring commitment to advancing innovation and supporting American fashion,” said Katie Ioanilli, Chief Global Impact & Communications Officer, Ralph Lauren Corporation. “This is not only an investment in our industry — it’s an investment in a vital part of American culture that we share with the world.”

The CFDA x NY Forward Grant Fund
The CFDA x NY Forward Grant Fund, created in partnership with the New York State Department of State, is dedicated to sustaining the New York City Garment District, the historic heart of American fashion production. The program will provide grants to New York City Garment District-based fashion manufacturers as well as designers producing in-house. Two rounds of funding will be distributed, one in 2026 and another in 2027, empowering businesses to invest in innovation, expand production capacity, and preserve local jobs, contributing to the revitalization of this commercial hub. In each round, one manufacturer recipient will also receive the Ralph Lauren Manufacturing Award, providing the full grant amount in recognition of the most innovative approach to advancing their business.

The U.S. Fashion Manufacturing Fund
The U.S. Fashion Manufacturing Fund, supported by Ralph Lauren as Founding Partner, will run from 2027 through 2029 and will extend grant funding for innovation and workforce development beyond New York to key regions across the country, including California, New Jersey, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Florida and others. The program will provide partially matching grants to manufacturers investing in advanced machinery, software, and workforce training, covering 80 percent of each grant award, with recipients contributing the remaining 20 percent.

#ChampagneWishes #KeepingAmericaonTop #MadeintheUSA #WorldClass #BlackCreekRyeWhiskey by #MoverandShaker #CharlesFerri at the #HudsonHouseDistillery Earns Whom You Know's Highest Recommendation

It's the holiday season and of course the merriest way to get in the swing is with Hudson House Distillery, namely BLACK CREEK NEW YORK STRAIGHT RYE WHISKEY!!!!!It's not who you know, it's WHOM YOU KNOW and Charles Ferri has been a Mover and Shaker since September 2009 on Whom You Know because of his outstanding work with his previous creation, Star Vodka, which was once the greatest until Hudson House Distillery came along, particularly because it's on the EAST COAST.

There is a long Star Vodka history here as you see especially since it was the main component in The Peachy Deegan cocktail.  As he has gotten older, Charles has gotten more skilled in his passion for producing the best alcohol in the world, and we have drank more in person with him with alcohol he made than anyone else ever featured.  This has set standards impossibly high for his competition, particularly as we started in 2009.
And the alcohol hat trick by Hudson House Distillery is this smashing Rye!  It's exclusive, limited and liquid authentic New York drinkable gold in our humble opinion.  Charles and Peachy are ageless because you know what they are drinking! (Click here for the video...)

Committed to sustainability, we prioritize the natural environment, offering a solution that cares for both your lips and the planet.

They tell us about their history:

In 2015, Sean became a beekeeper. Sean and his father, Phil, farm together, planting corn, soybeans, and wheat. Sean and Phil both knew the benefits of introducing more honeybees to the farm, regarding improved pollination for crops and other plants and delicious, raw, unprocessed honey. The idea of becoming a beekeeper wasn’t Sean’s, but his father’s. The whole idea of wearing a hot beekeeper suit and the likelihood of getting stung from time to time didn’t appeal to Phil; thus, the job was handed down to the younger member of the farming operation, Sean. Sean began taking beekeeping classes and talking with other beekeepers. He started with just one hive and the first year was a disaster. The queen’s eggs got into the top frames of the hive and the honey had to be discarded. The next year, honey was harvested, but the queen later died, and the hive collapsed. Sean learned a lot about the dos and don’ts of beekeeping throughout those two years. When he inquired about the beeswax, many of his beekeeper friends said they threw it out. Sean researched and found that beeswax had incredible benefits when used in cosmetics and skin care. He didn’t know much about cosmetics, but Sean knew he wanted to make a product with beeswax and use as few natural ingredients as possible. Sean was familiar with Burt’s Bees lip balm, that had 16 ingredients listed on the label, and wanted to see if he could make something even better. He started out using a syringe filled with beeswax, coconut oil, shea butter, and natural flavor oils and squirted the mixture into small, round containers. These containers were handed out to friends and family and loved by all! Still researching ingredients, Sean came across jojoba oil. In his reading, Sean learned that jojoba oil is a natural antioxidant, high in Vitamin E, and a lot like human skin sebum. He was skeptical because it sounded too good to be true but decided to add it to his lip balm recipe. Since jojoba oil is a liquid wax, Sean was pleasantly surprised how the oil helped give the lip balm “staying power.” It’s all-natural, moisturizing, soothing, and the combination of beeswax and jojoba oil keeps it on your lips longer. Sean had created the perfect lip balm!

Produced using the finest sourced grains from New York State, the latest and greatest by Charles Ferri is Black Creek Whiskey!  It is crafted in a 100 year-old former monastery using naturally soft mineral water they call their "Holy Water".  They are proud to say that everything about this whiskey is American, from the glass bottles that are made in Pennsylvania, to labels being printed in Western New York, to the grain that is sourced from New York State farms. They produce Black Creek Whiskey to the highest standards. From the first sip to the last, you can taste the smoothness and quality. Black Creek Bourbon and Black Creek Empire Rye are made in limited unique batches which makes them all one of a kind. We prefer you sipping them but understand why many are now collecting them.
The Story Behind Black Creek Whiskey

Charles and Paul purchased the former monastery in 2015 with the approval of the Vatican. Not being familiar with the area they decided to explore and came upon the Black Creek Preserve nearby which is a hiking trail 1 mile north of the Hudson House on the Hudson River. There is an iconic wooden suspension bridge that greeted them at the entrance to the trail. Both were in awe of the beauty and majestic scenery around them and while on that bridge "Black Creek Whiskey" was born.

That bridge and moment was hand drawn by their designer/artist who custom designed the entire label to pay tribute to the bridge and that special day.

To learn more, please join them for a tour and tasting of the property.

YOUR JOURNEY AWAITS…

Charles tells us the Story Behind Altair Vodka:

Who cares about another vodka? Obviously, Peachy Deegan, among others!  We understand the market is saturated with brands from around the world so adding one more was a no go unless we could do something so different and exceptional that would stand out on its own.

Introducing Altair Vodka, a twice pot distilled and 30X micro-distilled spirit using our naturally soft mineral water. A vodka so unique and smooth with flavor there is no need for mixers it stands on its own. In naming the new vodka, our team assembled their ideas. The goal was to have a name that represented the property and vision and evolved from Star which was a west coast brand now migrating to the Hudson Valley. A fascinating story has unfolded in creating Altair Vodka which leads us to believe it was meant to be.

“We are bringing laundry production to our global headquarters in Louisville because manufacturing in the U.S. is fundamental to our ‘zero-distance’ business strategy to make appliances as close as possible to our customers and consumers,” said Kevin Nolan, president & CEO, GE Appliances. “This decision is our most recent product reshoring and aligns with the current economic and policy environment.”

“Today’s announcement further secures Louisville as the global headquarters of GE Appliances, a Haier company, and brings more world-class, unparalleled appliance manufacturing back to the United States,” said Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear. “This new investment strengthens one of our vital Kentucky assets and underscores our state’s reputation as America’s destination of choice for advanced manufacturing and job creation.”

A Model Factory for the Appliance Industry

This investment will move production of more than 15 models of front load washers to Building 2 at Appliance Park – bringing the total area of clothes care production to the equivalent of 33 football fields. Next door, Building 1 at Appliance Park produces top load washers and front load dryers. Building 2 will be redesigned as a model factory, showcasing the latest in automation, robotics, and material-handling technologies, including AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles) and AMRs (Autonomous Mobile Robots). The plant is vertically integrated and will include in-house manufacturing of critical parts such as stainless-steel baskets and cabinets, high-precision metal stamping and forming, and injection-molding and production equipment, delivering products with the quality, craftsmanship and market-leading features consumers have come to expect from products carrying GE Appliances’ brands. The new manufacturing lines will open in 2027.

Product Highlights That WowGE Profile™ UltraFast Combo Washer/Dryer – This ventless 2-in-1 laundry appliance washes and dries full-sized loads in the same drum, eliminating the transfer step and delivering a large laundry load ready to wear in about two hours2. In addition to time-saving capabilities, the machine also saves energy with ventless heat pump technology and offers the ultimate installation flexibility — fitting anywhere with a water hookup and 120v plug. This game-changing innovation revolutionized the laundry chore by giving time back to American consumers.
GE Profile™ Front Load Washer with UltraFresh™ Vent System+ – This revolutionary washer line-up was thoughtfully engineered to remove the dreaded front load odor, eliminating the need for owners to leave the door open after each load. A three-part solution includes a wider gasket to better drain the water, the UltraFresh Vent System with OdorBlock™ that circulates fresh air to keep the basket dry, and Microban® Antimicrobial Technology built in to help defend against the growth of odor-causing bacteria.

“Manufacturing in Louisville puts production closer to our designers, engineers and consumers so that together we can create our most innovative laundry platforms,” said Lee Lagomarcino, vice president, clothes care, GE Appliances. “The team has already developed new solutions for American households and can’t wait to get started making them. The new full-size capacity products have features that save time and offer unparalleled convenience. We created the full-size washer/dryer combo laundry category, and we intend to maintain our leadership position with consumers.”

Support from the City and Commonwealth

The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority (KEDFA) preliminarily approved performance-based incentives in support of the project under the Kentucky Business Investment program, workforce training grants through the Kentucky Skills Network and funds to support the modernizing the building. Final amounts will be determined upon GE Appliances meeting job retention and investment targets.

“I am thrilled GE Appliances will continue to build the world’s best appliances at its global headquarters in Louisville,” said Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg. “This half-billion-dollar investment is a huge deal that will create 800 good, local jobs and secure GE Appliances’ growth in Louisville for the next generation.”

#PeachysPantry Introducing #SalumeriaBiellese #KeepingAmericaonTop #MadeintheUSA #GorgeousGifts Since 1925! MEET THE ONLINE STORE! Now you can replicate in your home Peachy's Manhattan Dining Experience!

Their mission statement:

As descendants from the province of Biella in Italy’s Piedmont region, we feature traditional style sausages and salumi with an emphasis on quality and flavor. We use the highest quality ingredients from not only local farms in the Tri-State area, but also select farmers that we have been working with for many years. Our mission is for you to take a step into our family’s kitchen, and let your taste buds do the rest!

Sopressata Sampler, above

This makes an excellent gift and it is never to early to start on your CHRISTMAS shopping!  And if you are like us, you firmly believe in shopping 365 days a year.  (Note to those in Manhattan: Macy's is close to their restaurants!)  There is something for everyone among these four flavors!

Finochietta Salami – A delicate yet bold blend of fennel and spices that provide a subtle, aromatic sweetness.

Sopressata Toscana – A classic Italian masterpiece, with robust flavors of garlic, black pepper, and a hint of red wine, evoking the rolling hills of Tuscany.

Sopressata Tartuffini – A luxurious treat infused with the earthy elegance of truffles, taking this Sopressata to an unforgettable level of indulgence.

Napolitana Salami – Inspired by the heart of Naples, this variety features a balance of rich, savory spices and a zesty kick of chili, perfect for lovers of bold flavor.

Garlic and Chianti Salami

Peachy personally loves garlic and chianti and they combine for a lovely symphony of Italian flavors in this winner. Coarsely ground pork meets the rich notes of Chianti wine and the savory sweetness of roasted garlic, accented by a touch of Mediterranean spices. Slowly air-dried to achieve ultimate perfection.  Also, we believe when you are not drinking Italian wine, you should be eating it!

Cacciatorini Pecorino

Again, these are not run-of-the-mill common flavors, but since when are we interested in common anything.  We strive to identify and curate our content to showcase the very best, and this is the Perfect Pairing of Pork and Pecorino. They’ve taken the classic Cacciatorini and enhanced it with the sharp, salty notes of Pecorino cheese. A truly irresistible combination that sets this brand apart will bring delight to your charcuterie board, making you the last word in neighborhood parties.

Salame Con Porcini

An Exquisite Berkshire & Porcini Delight. What a savory way to get in your vegetables! Coarsely ground, premium Berkshire shoulder meets the earthy richness of Porcini mushrooms and the subtle notes of Barbera wine. Seasoned, cured, and dried to perfection for an unforgettable taste.
