Dr. Kuncio's outreach mission to Armenia 

Dr. Kuncio had the pleasure of spending some time treating underprivileged children in rural Armenia. It was an extremely rewarding experience organized through the Armenian Dental Volunteers. Many of the kids had never seen a dentist before and there was much to get done, but the volunteers managed to have some fun with the campers as well!

American Association of Orthodontists reiterates seeing patients by age 7 The American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) recommends that every child be seen by an orthodontist by age 7.   Too often we see kids for the first time in their mid-teens ("we were told to come when all of the baby teeth have fallen out").   By then its often too late to avoid removing permanent teeth or doing orthognathic surgery to correct the occlusion.  Please educate your patients to bring their children in sooner (we can mail your office patient education pamphlets) - the consultation is complementary and they'll thank you later!  April is National Facial Protection Month Each April during National FacialProtection Month, the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) urges athletes to "Play It Safe" by wearing mouthguards and other appropriate protective gearwhen participating in many sports and activities. This year, the AAO went a step further and commissioned a survey of parents to determine why many "preventable" face and mouth injuries are still so prevalent among young athletes. Lack of knowledge - specifically about which sports and skill levels benefit from protective gear - topped the list.   Please ask for a mouthguard at our office if your patient plays active sports.

So, our STRAIGHT TEETH coverage continues!

Ages ago Peachy had retainers that eventually broke that were made of plastic and wires...and since she is not an orthodontist she had absolutely no idea that they would be anything but that today, but take a look at the above visual!  Yes, they are Peachy's retainers that fit perfectly on Peachy's teeth!  In our wildest dreams of crabcakes at Swifty's with our superstraight teeth, we would have never imagined something so innovative, and you know those crabcakes would not taste as good without straight teeth!

So simple to put on and take off, these amazing retainers will keep your smile put!  They pop in and out with ease and are light as a feather.  Obviously they are totally bespoke which is how we love everything best at Whom You Know.  Halyna Kit was again master teacher and professional extraordinaire, and we are well-informed of how to care for these wonders, and we can say after wearing them a few nights that they are unbelievably comfortable as well.  Just amazing!

"Nighttime for Lifetime!" is the saying of Dr. Daniel Kuncio in regards to wearing your retainer after orthodontic treatment.  And we are going to listen to him from now on!  You should too.

Well, if you have been reading closely you know that Peachy knows Garo from their Boston College days, way before Garo was a dentist or Peachy was Peachy.

Many years ago, Peachy had a lot of orthodontics done and we'll spare you the details.

She wound up with fabulous teeth, and as she is super-detail oriented, she noticed that they seemed to be moving ever-so-slightly, but the fact of the matter is, she doesn't want them moving at all.  So, Dr. Garo Nazarian recommended she go to Kuncio Orthodontics and she is glad she did!  "Nighttime for Lifetime!" is the saying of Dr. Daniel Kuncio in regards to wearing your retainer after orthodontic treatment.  And we are going to listen to him from now on!

When she gets those retainers, it is definitely going to be nighttime for lifetime since it took a lot of effort to get great teeth!  And we could not be more impressed with the steps forward in the field of orthodontics!  If you are also an adult way past your years of braces like Peachy, you should also think about getting a retainer to keep your teeth in place at night.  You never want to have problems down the road and when you have the opportunity to work with someone as accomplished and talented as Dr. Daniel Kuncio, who will be featured as a Mover and Shaker, you should!  The first time Peachy had impressions taken for orthodontics was in 5th grade and it was not fun, and we will spare you those details too.  White cakey gooey matter was used back in the day, but not at Kuncio Orthodontics!  Halyna Kit, who could not be more personable and pleasant, mixes up hightech impression material that is pink when it hasn't set and yellow when it does set, and it is even flavored.   Getting impressions done these days is not the horror it once was!  It was almost fun!  Also, the x-rays weren't scary either.  After removing earrings and glasses, you stand in front of a machine while Halyna takes the expert x-ray, and we don't remember x-rays from years ago being this sharp, this fast or this professional.  You will be amazed if you have not been to an orthodontist in a long time either!
