NIGHTLIGHT: Pulse at Arena

Last night's soiree at Pulse proved to be a highly entertaining venture! The karaoke suites united all kinds of voices and the champagne was flowing. It was the grand opening and is the "downstairs" of the club Arena-just west of Bryant Park. Pulse is a club featuring private suites located at 135 West 41st Street between 6th and Broadway.

PULSE is the newest innovation at ARENA and it featured a premium open bar, passed platters of four star appetizers, karaoke, guitar hero, Rockband! What more?

It was so much fun that surely many today are having an out of body experience-wishing they were not in their body! The endless lychee martinis were fabulous and the best appetizer were the french fries with dip. Jayso, Joyelle, Jose and Anthony made all feel welcome, posh and pampered with service superior to most clubs.

Peachy's questions to Pulse Guests : Mar C., Midori, Babycakes and Purple Haze.

Peachy: I can't go wrong with champagne, but what was your favorite drink?
Mar C: Lychee Martini
Midori: The lychee martini rocked!
Babycakes: Strawberry mojito
Purple Haze: Lychee Martini

P: What was your favorite appetizer?
Mar C: French Fries with Dip
Midori: The fried wings with 2 bbq dipping sauces.
B: The fries
P: French fries w/chipotle mayo sauce

P: How did you like the song selection and corresponding videos?
Mar: Pretty much all the songs I looked for is there, but as for the videos, I wish they are the original MV instead of Korean MVs.
Midori: They seriously need to expand their collection of english songs, a number of karaoke classics were missing from the list (Love Shack by B-52's, Don't You Want Me by Human League were missing!)
B: Overall it was good, it would have been better if there were more updated songs as I definitely prefer singing with the original videos
P: The song selection could've been more diversified. They did not have that many American songs. The Korean corresponding videos were awful and depressing. There were too many Korean MTV. I would've prefer the original videos from the band or singer. Why did they have to play only "Korean" videos for every song? I understand that the club is owned by Koreans and was once a Korean niteclub called Circle. But if they are trying to cater people of all different cultures, they should have American videos as well.

P: What was your favorite song to sing?
Mar C: Top of the World by Carpenter, my favorite song to dance with is Lambada
Midori: I have more than one: Material Girl, I Will Survive, Venus, Call Me - any girl anthem song that the whole group can sing & shout to!
B: Call Me & Sexy Back
P: I'm not a good singer but "I Kissed A Girl" & "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" was great to sing to with the group.

P: Who was your favorite host and why?
Mar C: The sexy waitress Jayso and the cute waiter Joyelle; they are so accommodating to our endless requests for four hours, and always managed to carry a smile for the entire evening!
Midori: Both Jayso & Joyelle (or is it Joelle?) were great, so accommodating, they really took care of us.
B: Joyelle is fun and very accommodating
P: Jayso was so accomodating with the flowing rounds of drinks. I love her tatoos. Joyelle rocks as well since he kept on bringing us food. We can't drink without some food.

P: What was the most entertaining moment of the night?
Mar C: When all the girls stood up (well, I sort of dragged everyone) and dance exotically to the song Lambada
Midori: When all of us got up & danced, we worked off those drinks calories!
B: When we were bouncing up and down and shouting out like a rock star
P: When the "Fabulous 5" got up to sing and dance.

P: Why was Suite 5 the most fun at Pulse?
Mar C: The girls in room Five; not only can sing, but they can drink and eat and dance like there is no tomorrow on a Monday night.
Midori: We were obviously having the most fun, others couldn't resist dropping by Suite 5 to hang with us!
B: The girls in Suite 5 ROCK!!!
P: The girls in Suite 5 rock!! We can sing, dance & eat on a Monday night. Party like a rock star!!!
