Small Screen Scenes: Shane and Shawn Ward star on MTV's MADE on May 9th

Our Movers and Shakers, twins Shane and Shawn Ward, are back on Whom You Know with some fabulous commentary on their upcoming MTV appearance.

Shane Ward told Peachy Deegan:
Shawn and I will appear on an episode of MTV's MADE. We will be coaches on the show and our task is to make this young high school student who is extremely smart and outgoing with his friends, but becomes very shy and clams up around girls into a "Ladies Man'!!!

MADE is the second longest running show on MTV behind The Real World, and their 'Ladies Man' episodes are one of their most successful segments. We spent a total of 5 weeks (3 weeks actually in Phoenix , Arizona ) making this young man over; from the inside and out. We worked on everything from his confidence, his grooming, his conversation, approach mechanisms, as well as ways to get the phone numbers. However, being designers, our most exciting part of the show was the 'make-over' part.

Peachy Deegan: Is this your first MTV experience?
Shane and Shawn Ward: YES.

How did you become involved?
OUR PUBLICIST WORKED WITH MTV TO GET US ON.

Were you always "ladies men" or was it an acquired skill?
HAHA!! I THINK THERE WAS ALWAYS A LADIES MAN INSIDE, BUT I MUST SAY, I DIDNT REALLY BEGIN TO CULTIVATE THOSE SKILLS TIL LATER IN LIFE, SAY ABOUT COLLEGE!!!

What ideas do you have to "declam" him and get him to open up?
WELL, WE TAUGHT HIM FIRST AND FOREMOST TO OPEN UP AND BE HONEST WITH WOMEN. IF HE WAS ABLE TO TO THIS (BY FOR EXAMPLE, GIVING A STRANGER A COMPLIMENT), THEN HE WOULD BE SEE THAT THE WORLD WOULD NOT END IF HE TALKED TO A GIRL IN AN 'INTERESTED' WAY.

What could backfire?
ONLY IF HE BECOMES TOO CONFIDENT. ALMOST COCKY!!

What was the most dramatic change you were able to affect?
HIS VISUAL. WE ARE DESIGNERS, SO THE MAKEOVER WAS PRETTY EXTREME.
