Background: More than 60,000 children live within a mile of Prospect Park, and they – along with countless others throughout Brooklyn – depend on these spaces as a critical component of their physical and emotional development.

The Prospect Park Playground Committee was formed in 2004 when concerned parents joined with the Prospect Park Alliance to support the Park’s seven dynamic playgrounds. The Committee works to raise funds for and awareness of these crucial recreation areas, rallying community and government support to keep them welcoming and available for generations to come. To date the Committee has raised approximately $200,000 for the care and upkeep of playgrounds and surrounding areas.

Have fun helping Prospect Park’s playgrounds at this year’s fundraising event, La Fête au Parc – a French Impressionist themed party on June 5th from 7 – 10 p.m. at the landmark Boathouse in the Park.

Individual tickets start at $75.

Groups of five and ten tickets are available for $500 and $1,000.

All but $35 per person is tax-deductible.

To purchase tickets, view the online silent auction and honor a child in the printed program and on special signage at the event, go to http://www.prospectpark.org/calendar/event/playgrounds
