Lowlights--Adding in your natural color, or close to it to add dimension to your existing haircolor.

Chunking--Applying strong, bold panels of color to get a very dramatic effect.

Painting--Usually means taking large sections of the hair and applying color; close to the natural color if not right on. Could use different formulas to create dimension, depending on the stylist as well as the desired look and the condition of the hair.

Baliage--A freehand method of creating highlights by hair painting.

Tippping--Adding light color to tips of the hair, only. Usually done on short hair.

Foiling--Most common among hairstylists in achieving highlights.

Be sure to visit Erica to get your tresses ready for fall!
