Whom You Know Kicks Off Our Coverage of J.M. Weston

J.M. Weston has been in existence for 118 years, Since 1891.

Based in Limoges France , Edouard Blanchard established a factory making women and men's shoes.

He was soon joined by his son Eugene Blanchard, whose sights were fixed on the modern manufacturing methods used in the United States. In 1904 , Eugene left for the U.S. where he spent two years studying the innovative Goodyear stitching technique. The journey took him to the town of Weston Massuchessets, which became the inspiration for the name of the Company.

The first boutiques opened in Paris in 1922 on Boulevard Courcelles. Four years later the brands flagship on Champs Elysee opened and remains today along with 40 plus stores around the world, including Manhattan's on 812 Madison Avenue. Although these won't fit Peachy Deegan, they certainly will fit her dear old dad! Stay tuned for men's shoe of the week on Thursday.
