My students are so into books like Diary of a Wimpy Kid. After I had read all those aloud to them, I was struggling to find a book to keep their attention like those books. Then Big Nate came along. They are laughing out loud and keep asking me to keep reading. They cannot wait until I am done reading aloud so they can look at the book themselves. I have several siblings of former students and those siblings are going home and talking about Big Nate. I've even had several former students coming to ask me to borrow this book. I can't say enough good things. Any time a book comes along that makes kids want to read, I am all for. This book makes them want to go to the library. They have even asked me if our school library has any copies. I've already told the librarian to put Big Nate on the order list for next year!
