Second Location #271Amsterdam #InauguralReview @madeinnypizza #MadeInNewYorkPizza #TerrificTakeout #UpperWestSide

Owner of the 271 Amsterdam location: Chris Guilliani
It's not who you know, it's WHOM YOU KNOW and now we are pleased to know CHRIS (great name!) of Made in New York Pizza and drumroll please, this is their inaugural review at this location of 271 Amsterdam Avenue in Manhattan of course which opened to the public on August 24, 2022.
This is the second review ever of this brand, and note there is a huge difference between those that have been written about once and those that have been written about twice.
Earlier this year, Made in New York Pizza earned accolades at their original Upper West Side location.
Time to get up close and personal with the cheese!
If you are new to us, you ought to know we don't edit pictures.
You are beautiful and excel or we don't publish.
The pizza is exactly this gorgeous:
The eighteen inch large pie is a walk on the lighter side of pizza.  With an oregano and parmesan base, the mozzarella is spread lightly on top, also over plum tomatoes (Alta Cucina from Italy) to yield a satisfying crunch without heaviness.  The ingredients are in good proportion to each other and this solid start sets a precedent well for whatever your little heart desires to add when you order.
We are proponents of a balanced meal and personally, Peachy always eats salad with pizza.  We found the two salad options at this second location to be exactly as spectacular and consistently fresh as their first location.  The house salad, above, is comprised of cherry tomato, chili pepper, red onion, cucumber and carrots while the caesar salad below is romaine, croutons and grated cheese.  They are great at details and put the dressing on the side for Ms. Superpicky.
Remember the last time we raved about a Calzone?
Nah, we can't remember either.
The absolute best calzone we have had in quite some time is here!
Do not drool on your computer or phone.
The truth is it tastes as fabulous as it looks:
They make their calzones with no sauce and the cheese calzone is with ricotta and mozzarella.  You get sauce on the side that they make fresh every two days so you can dip your calzone in.  We absolutely did and recommend you get enough sauce for the whole thing because you will not leave a single crumb behind: it's that great.  If you want sauce inside you can request that.  We might do that another time to see how it is.
Chris Guilliani and team keep the artistry of pizza alive and well here as evidenced by this visual array of excellence.  So what does a Peachy order on her pizza?  This time she chose sausage (which is sweet Italian here), mushroom, onions and spinach which is a superlative combination.  All ingredients were fresh and arranged intelligently and it was baked not too much and not too little but just Goldilocks correct for Peachy who was quite pleased.
We look forward to more quality from this brand new to us in 2022.
Made in New York Pizza is Terrific Takeout!
