#ChampagneWishes #KeepingAmericaonTop #MadeintheUSA #BlackCreekWhiskey by #MoverandShaker #CharlesFerri at the #HudsonHouseDistillery Earns Whom You Know's Highest Recommendation

It's not who you know, it's WHOM YOU KNOW and Charles Ferri has been a Mover and Shaker since September 2009 on Whom You Know because of his outstanding work with his previous creation, Star Vodka, which was once the greatest until Hudson House Distillery came along, particularly because it's on the EAST COAST.

There is a long Star Vodka history here as you see especially since it was the main component in The Peachy Deegan cocktail.  As he has gotten older, Charles has gotten more skilled in his passion for producing the best alcohol in the world, and we have drank more in person with him with alcohol he made than anyone else ever featured.  This has set standards impossibly high for his competition, particularly as we started in 2009.

Produced using the finest sourced grains from New York State, the latest and greatest by Charles Ferri is Black Creek Whiskey!  It is crafted in a 100 year-old former monastery using naturally soft mineral water they call their "Holy Water".  They are proud to say that everything about this whiskey is American, from the glass bottles that are made in Pennsylvania, to labels being printed in Western New York, to the grain that is sourced from New York State farms. They produce Black Creek Whiskey to the highest standards. From the first sip to the last, you can taste the smoothness and quality. Black Creek Bourbon and Black Creek Empire Rye are made in limited unique batches which makes them all one of a kind. We prefer you sipping them but understand why many are now collecting them.
The Story Behind Black Creek Whiskey

Charles and Paul purchased the former monastery in 2015 with the approval of the Vatican. Not being familiar with the area they decided to explore and came upon the Black Creek Preserve nearby which is a hiking trail 1 mile north of the Hudson House on the Hudson River. There is an iconic wooden suspension bridge that greeted them at the entrance to the trail. Both were in awe of the beauty and majestic scenery around them and while on that bridge "Black Creek Whiskey" was born.

That bridge and moment was hand drawn by their designer/artist who custom designed the entire label to pay tribute to the bridge and that special day.

The Distillery at Hudson House

Our craft distillery is located in the cellar of a former monastery and uses custom made equipment from Kothe distilling systems in Germany.

Part of what makes our spirits so special is the water from an onsite old artesian well that taps into a Catskill aquifer. As that water travels to Hudson House, it passes over limestone creating our naturally soft mineral water we call our "Holy Water" which is used in all of our craft spirits.

We use select New York State grains supporting local farms for our spirit production in small batches. Our portfolio consists of Black Creek Bourbon, Black Creek Empire Rye, Black Creek Aniversario Bourbon, Black Creek Devil’s Cut and Altair Vodka. Keep on the look out for our latest releases including a New York State Gin.

A Historic Waterfront Property

In the 1850’s, Archibald Russell, a known philanthropist and founder of Ulster County Savings in Kingston, built a home for his family on an estate known as Glen Albyn. Archibald died in 1871 and his widow, Helen, sold the Glen Albyn estate to the Durkee family in 1885. The Durkee’s were proprietors of one of the country’s leading spice businesses and eventually condiment producers. They purchased the property as a wedding gift for their daughter and owned it until it was purchased in the 1920’s by the Christian Brotherhood and for the next 100+ years, the historic estate served as a working monastery known as the Santa Maria Novitiate.

We are proud to be the 4th owner in over 170 years, and equally proud to introduce, The Hudson House & Distillery. We have committed to restore and maintain the property’s natural beauty in keeping with the original Italian Villa Revival style of architecture. We encourage you to explore the old buildings and truly experience this unique and special property in the heart of Hudson Valley.
