READ THIS: Images of Sports The New York Rangers by John Halligan

Well, since you cannot watch the Rangers in the Stanley Cup playoffs, at least you can read about it!  In Images of Sports The New York Rangers, John Halligan captures the winning moments of our favorite blueshirts in the city.  In fact, if you ask Peachy Deegan what her favorite Broadway show is she would probably say a New York Rangers game!   Since May 15, 1926, the day the New York Rangers were born, to today, four Stanley cups have been earned and memories have been made in the hallowed Madison Square Garden.

For those of you not fluent in hockey, the Stanley Cup is the equivalent of The World Series, The Superbowl, the Daytona 500....and the last time the Rangers won was in 1994.  That was even before Peachy lived in Manhattan, but she did make the pilgrimage to the parade!  And of course the parade was celebrated in this book.

Most of what happened in this book was probably before you were born!  You'll learn about the Patrick dynasty, the A line, (and this one is highly preferred over the subway!) to Phil Esposito and Rod Gilbert, whom we met at the Star Vodka Ball to Brian Mullen, brother of Joey Mullen who is perhaps the most accomplished American hockey player ever (and he did go to Boston College too.)  We have heard that the Mullen's father drove the Zamboni at MSG....

From Emile Francis to Gordie Howe, hockey legends are shown throughout the evolution of the game.  It's the most wonderful time of the year: Stanley Cup season!  So it's the perfect time to read this book.  Whom You Know highly recommends Images of Sports The New York Rangers by John Halligan.

About the Images of Sports Series
In classical Rome, they were known as gladiators.  In medieval Europe, they were dubbed knights.  In contemporary times, they are called athletes.  Each title in the Images of Sports series presents the fascinating history connected to athletes and their sport.  From baseball to skiing, from football to hockey, this series remembers the faces, the teams, and the games that made us cheer.
