All hail the Seafood Moussaka!!!!!
 Sure, it may be raining in Manhattan and you can't go to an actual beach for sun and fun.
HOWEVER, you can go to Peachy Deegan's FAVORITE Manhattan beach at 52 Vanderbilt avenue, Ammos!  Ammos means sand in Greek, and it is by far the best summery restaurant around.  Heat up your day even when it drizzles: Saganaki-style Greek graviera cheese with sensational dry figs that add the ideal amount of sweetness to balance the savory cheese is fabulously flambeed with Metaxa brandy that make any day a party, even if it is raining on a Friday in Manhattan in the summer!
 You're going to want to get up close and personal with this delicious delicacy, but of course wait until the flames finish, silly!  It is better than blowing out candles on a birthday cake.  The Saganaki-style Greek graviera cheese is derived from Greek cows and sheep that should take consummate pride in their vocation: you will take their excellence in every bite.  Phenomenal flavor and fabulous consistency wait you as six figs properly punctuate the dish served in cast iron.  
Also note: as it is baked, it is healthy.

 Nothing says summer like Seafood Moussaka, and Ammos hits the aesthetic high notes on presentation while stunning your palate with the freshest seafood and squash in a totally dazzling bespoke Feta Bechamel sauce.
 It is so beautiful you don't want to ruin the style with your fork, but once you inhale its exquisite aromas, you will be enticed to fork piercing victory and palate pleasing summer seafood taste from the Mediterranean.  The glory of the shrimp and octopus awaits you amid intelligently crafted layers of zucchini, eggplant and yellow squash seared in evoo Feta Bechamel sauce that is luxury in every bite.  We will be honest with you: Peachy was so excited about the potatoes (obviously genetically have heard she's Irish) that a proper picture isn't here, but actions speak louder than words.  They were the first item magically vanished from this review that did a disappearing act in her stomach.  Fingerling Potatoes also make fabulous companions to each and every meal at Ammos, and Peachy Deegan loved them!  Halved and gorgeously sauteed in evoo and just the right touch of garlic, they add pizazz from the Mediterranean in contrasting colors.
 Even on a rainy day, the sun always shines on your plate at Ammos.

Get excited for their beautiful expanded bar and lounge space seating around three dozen with a hot new menu for this area the second week of September!  We absolutely can't wait and also this fall, three private dining rooms await your most fantastic soirees!
