Beef Shortribs, our favorite this visit!
Unobstructed view of the Ball Drop!
Paul and Peachy in 2019!  Of course you recognize him from his face on the menu also.
The countdown to New Year's Eve has begun, and Paul's Times Square, beautifully situated on the storied 42nd Street, has quite the enviable view.  But year-round, you can count on having a spectacular dinner there by Executive Chef Dino Redzic!  Dino and Peachy:
When we arrived, everything was precisely what we were looking for from the crisp white tablecloth, to the spacious table to the namesake water, pinkies out mes amies!  This should surprise no one, as Owners Paul Nicaj, whom we have worked with since 2013, Dino Redzic and Nick Krkuti have 104 years of New York hospitality experience between the three of them combined.  This past summer we reminded you that their Pizza also rocks:
Appetizers are sublime and we are always into surf and turf in all regards.  Above, meet precisely sliced filet mignon sourced from DeBragga: Carpaccione Di Manzo.  The raw beef meticulously melts in your mouth satisfying all of your carnivorous indulgences and it has its own party on a plate in arugula and parmesean; this is a regular menu item.  A special the night we visited was the Tuna Tartare, all surf in our opinion!  Surf's up on Peachy's Palate as sushi-grade tuna was sensationally spread upon sourdough perfection, obviously handcrafted by Dino and toasted just right.  Tuna is delivered three times a week.  Also avocado comes to this cool as a cucumber number and it is stepped up with lemon juice elevating its flavor properties. We encourage you to play with your food here:

Also note right now there is a fantastic guacamole special which Peachy inhaled so quickly, her camera was not fast enough.  Accentuated with jalapeno bringing it to its freshest elevation, this Guacamole is not Mexican but rather Mediterranean.
We have not been here in awhile, however, we plan on coming back soon (New Year's maybe Dino?)  It has been previously featured:

Right this second you cannot see the ball drop, but what you do want to see drop in front of you is the Pappardelle con Funghi e Tartufi, our personal favorite historically.  Homemade wide ribbon pasta luxuriates in a bespoke wild mushroom porcini truffle cream sauce, scoring a home run in your stomach.  Flavored with preserved white truffle shavings and flavored truffle oil, this authentic pasta star of the show will take its bow in your stomach, once you order it!
Our absolute favorite edible this visit was without a doubt the Beef Shortribs, which are the best in Manhattan at all anywhere right this second.  Actually, these come from Dino's special butcher shop in Astoria, Ljuljhami.  This is the first we've heard of it but perhaps not the last you will hear of it from us...we shall see!  The succulence of this beef endeavor is unparalled in juiciness level and flavor spectrum and it pairs perfectly with smashed boiled Idaho potatoes and asparagus.  The cabernet is perfect with this, and this too is a special.
Chilean Sea Bass with White Wine Capers Sauce is sure to impress the pescatarian in you and it even arrived in style with Peachy's personal favorite vegetable, haricot verts and for all of you that didn't take French, green beans.  Even the rice it is perched upon is elegant and the fish itself is spectacular in flavor and freshness, especially considering the seared glazed miso.
Note this is not a steakhouse, but this review should put certain steakhouses to shame!  We're not naming names but if we're not talking about you....!  Why would you want turkey on Thanksgiving when you could have this?
A majestic 24 oz Ribeye on the bone is a superlative special right now, and we love how the rosemary sprig is consistent there and in the rosemary roasted potatoes, just the right companion.  This is one of the best Ribeyes you can order in Manhattan right now and from the juiciness inside grilled medium as we asked to the perfect amount of char on the outside, this Ribeye is dressed to impress.
 Potato glamour shots

The asparagus special adds greenery and nutrition and the smashed poatoes of mash, cream and butter perfectly punctuated with scallion on top re-emphasize Peachy's personal belief that you really cannot have too many versions of potatoes in any one meal.

Our favorite dessert here is the Apple Tarte, and the Tiramisu is also good and made on premises.

50 days until December 31st!  We love it at Paul's Times Square.
Paul's Times Square is Highly Recommended by Whom You Know.
