A special 4-course pre-fixe menu is available at Ammos for Mother's Day 2022!
Sunday, May 8, 2022 Ammos is open from noon to 9pm.
And may we also remind you about their GORGEOUS OUTDOOR SEATING!
It begins with a lovely Amuse Bouche!  Included as the first course in everyone's four course Mother's Day extravaganza, the Amuse Bouche Seafood Ceviche of finely diced Tuna, Salmon, Chilean Sea Bass and Red Snapper proves to be a sensational combination especially when elevated by onions.  All marinated in a lovely lemon juice, it's further accentuated by diced tomatoes, spiced chopped Serrano chili peppers and cilantro.  It is also featured in the bottom right below.
The second course of starters gives you eight options of:
Spanakopita (on left above)
Garides Kataifi (on right top, above)
Octapodi
Kalamari
Tuna Tartare
Kolokitho Keftedes
Salata Kipou
Keftedes
You will choose one.
You cannot pass go and collect $200 without trying the signature essential Spanakopita!  A true celebration of the classic Greek dish, this traditional Spinach pie is crafted with succulent barrel-aged feta, rich flavorful tomato sauce and intriguing mint evoo all combining for a top-notch starter.
An uber-popular pick always is the Garides Kataifi: 48-hour thoughtfully braised tiger shrimp luxuriates in kataifi phyllo dough and expertly dives into a silver boat of beurre blance sauce before reaching its final destination of your fine palate.
Wine is a most essential component for your Mother's Day celebration, and may we suggest the Idisma Drios Vintage 2016 Assyrtiko, which is actually from the mainland of Greece (in contrast to many Assyrtiko from Santorini).  This gorgeous, crisp white variety rated 90 by Robert Parker has a pronounced citrus aroma with an exciting peachy character overlay.  Balanced acidity in the alcohol is wonderfully achieved through aged oak barrels and it will most certainly put the spring in your step: the Greek word we learned for the season of Spring is ANIKSI (pronounced AHHH-neek-see).
The main course options are extensive, also totaling eight sublime specials for the day, and again you choose one of the eight:
Solomos (above left)
Plaki (above below right)
Rizi Vegetarian (above top right)
Lavraki
Garides Santorini
Kotopoulo
Arni Yiouvetsi
Brizola

As we sail into spring, fresh fish dishes are especially loved by everyone and the Solomos meets and exceeds the challenge wonderfully!  Expertly-pan-seared Salmon is majestically perched on top of zucchini pappardelle sauteed with delicate wild mushrooms and amazingly amplified by red pepper coulis.

Plaki is Braised Chilean Sea Bass which is presented in a rarified beurre blanc sauce.  Making its debut with caper berries and marbled potatoes, it is gorgeously layered upon grilled tomato, tricolor carrots and vidalia onion.

Rizi Vegetarian rejoices in all its arborio rice splendor sauteed with a mix of wild mushrooms, seasonal vegetables, diced peppers and this bespoke combination is infused with tantalizing truffle oil.

Finally, you pick one dessert of the three choices:
Baklava
Karidopita
and what you see below: Yiaourti Krema which is a rich chilled Greek yogurt flan served with quality Greek honey and sour cherries.
