Sean and Peachy:
It's not who you know and it never has been.
It's WHOM YOU KNOW and we know Sean Marr and his business partners and right now they are leading Peachy's Picks in number of restaurants owned with this achievement, weighing in at four.
We are thrilled to announce District Local is now a Peachy's Pick.
(you know, It's A Wonderful Dinner!)
We look forward to revisiting all individually and telling you about the latest and greatest at each.
As you know you can watch sports at all four places (eleven televisions here!  always on sports!) so you can think of this restaurant by this group as the Home Run!  They did the other three bases first.  We're going to have to think of another sport when someday they have five restaurants in Manhattan which we would not doubt.  Working with this group is kind of like playing Monopoly which is Peachy's favorite game...other than cards!
Initially opened in June 2019, District Local is a highly convincing neighborhood casual bistro that dominates the Union Square neighborhood and is loved by both the locals and tourists alike.  We visited on a warm afternoon recently and enjoyed the Brunch menu and also recommend the Dinner menu of course.  The kitchen is led by Executive Chef Jesus Aguilar and the Grilled Salmon was our favorite edible this visit.  Expertly prepared and resting upon a fresh bed of arugula, peppers, corn and asparagus, this springtime delight is further enhanced with festive Guava Glaze that gets you super excited for summer flavors.
For the uninitiated you should know that we never edit pictures.
You excel like Sean and team or we do not publish on you.
It is de rigeur about now in the review to tell you about the gorgeous Cabernet Sauvignon that Peachy is drinking with Sean, except this time she didn't!  She is expanding her horizons and embraced the highly accomplished list of beers.  There are 12 draft beers at District Local currently with expansion in the future, and this time Peachy gravitated towardsthe German Schofferhofer Grapefruit Can 16oz, 2.5 ABV Hefeweizen.  A Radler, which means fruit and beer, is entirely refreshing on a warm day and as the weather heats up we surmise this singular sensation will become in demand even more.  Whom You Know also tried the Aslin Green Starfish Can also weighing in at 16oz and with 5.7 ABV from VA, an IPA.  The ripe, lemony pine flavor upfront with hops hails from Virginia and each of these beers paired well with the hearty, commendable fare featured.
Peachy is not a vegan she is a DEEGAN and so to the Spinach Salad we chose to add Steak, which was juicy, tender and sublime.  And bien sur mes amis it is absolutely our favorite vegetable in the salad!  The Spinach salad is packed with nutrients and if covid didn't teach you that healthiness is of paramount importance we don't know what would.  Avocado, apples, black currents and tantalizingly tasty fried onions join this party on a plate and they listened and put the dressing on the side for Ms. Pretty Picky.
The Steak continued to star in this feature and this time, with Eggs!  The grilled hangar steak magnificently teams up with two perfectly fried eggs and fragrantly-crafted chimichurri, giving the entree the right touch.  This was the favorite edible of our panelist who is just as discriminating as Peachy and is imported from France.
Do not miss the DL Bellini with Prosecco and Peach Puree, an ideal match to everything you dine upon at District Local.
This restaurant group has really excelled in the realm of sandwiches and the Grilled Cheese was Peachy's favorite sandwich this visit.  The holy trinity of Cheddar, Gruyere and Swiss married together beautifully in an ideal level of crispiness and again the crisp fries scored a perfect assist on this goal into Peachy's stomach. Score another District Local!  Huevos Rancheros made its Whom You Know debut for the first time in our 26,600 plus (but who's counting?) posts and Peachy has never had Mexican Ranchers Eggs before, but she will have them again at District Local!  A magnificent combination of Beans, Salsa, Eggs, Corn Tortilla and Queso Fresco, this tantalizing delight of spangled flavors hit the spot on warm day.  It would also hit the spot on a cold day especially as we are experiencing winter weather at the end of April right now!
If you are curious, the answer is yes there is French toast in France and the French Toast at District Local is indeed competitive with its authentic counterparts in France as told to Peachy by our French cuisine expert.  In France the bread is slightly less thick typically but Peachy prefers this quality of bread.  Fresh berries and mango expertly diced bring the sublime powdered creation to new heights of deliciousness and whipped cream adds a third layer of ecstasy.  If you are vegetarian, the menu indicates that this whipped cream is vegetarian whipped cream.  If you are not vegetarian like us you will not notice any difference in the superior quality of the whipped cream.
Sean tells us that the Chicken Sandwich is a bestseller!  Once you try it it's entirely evident why with its buttermilk fried chicken, pickles and aji amarillo.  The satisfying crispiness is music to  your ears and the flavor that is radiated on your palate amplifies the experience.  Finally, Chicken and Waffles was the final firework of our District Local experience this time and it is also a bestseller.  That same coveted buttermilk fried chicken now is teamed up with fluffy Belgian waffles (ooh Hercule Poirot must not be far from these!  Stay tuned for even more Agatha Christie!  We are only up to 29 so far...) with blackberries that are so ripe they will absolutely melt in your mouth along with the mango and strawberries that came to the French toast party above.

District Local is Highly Recommended by Whom You Know!
