#PeachyontheLinks #ScotlandPeachy American Express and St Andrews Links Trust Announce Partnership to Grow the Global Reach of the Home of Golf™

Eligible Platinum Card® and Centurion® Members to Have an Exclusive Application Window to Enter for a Chance to Purchase Tee Times

American Express today announced it is adding the illustrious St Andrews Links to its sports partnership portfolio. American Express will be the Official Payments Partner of one of the world’s most prestigious golf destinations. With American Express’ large international presence, the partnership will help to make St Andrews accessible to more golfers and Card Members from around the world. This partnership builds on the breadth of American Express’ global sports partnerships, ranging from the NFL and F1® to Wimbledon and the US Open to stadiums and arenas around the world.

Through the partnership, eligible Consumer, Business and Corporate American Express Platinum Card and Centurion Members in select countries will have access to an Amex-exclusive application process, administered by St Andrews Links Trust, for a chance to purchase a golf package for themselves and one guest at select St Andrews Links courses in 2027. This will include the chance to play on the iconic Old Course, which is more than 600 years old, sits at the heart of St Andrews and has hosted golf’s oldest major a record 30 times – the next in 2027.

“Golf and premium travel continue to be passions of our Card Members globally, and there are few places in the world more legendary than St Andrews,” said Shiz Suzuki, Vice President, Global Brand Sponsorships & Experiential Marketing, American Express. “We’re proud of this first-of-its-kind partnership with St Andrews Links Trust to provide the meaningful access American Express is known for, and to create new ways for eligible Platinum Card and Centurion Members to not only experience this historic destination, but also to play at the Home of Golf.”

“St Andrews Links has welcomed golfers from around the world for generations, and we are continually looking for ways to enhance the visitor experience and connect with new audiences internationally. This partnership will open up a new channel to help us raise awareness of our brand and existing visitor golf opportunities across a broader international audience while preserving the traditions and accessibility that make St Andrews so special,” said James Ralley, Commercial Director, St Andrews Links Trust. “We are delighted to work with American Express on this unique partnership that will help introduce more golfers to St Andrews Links and support more investment into the Home of Golf.”

The Amex-exclusive application process will open August 26 at 10am BST, for eligible Centurion Members and on September 2 at 10am BST for eligible Platinum Card Members, in select countries. It will conclude at 11:59pm BST on September 9, prior to the upcoming 2026 Swilcan Package – St Andrews’ annual application process to access advanced tee times, which remains open to all.

The number of tee times available for St Andrews local golfers and all other traditional access routes are not impacted. St Andrews will also continue to offer its affordable golf initiatives.

Eligible Card Members who apply during an Amex-exclusive window will be selected by St Andrews Links Trust using the same random draw mechanism as the St Andrews Swilcan Package. Selected Card Members will then have approximately seven days after notification to purchase the golf package offered by St Andrews Links Trust. The Card Members who are selected during the Amex exclusive application window and subsequently purchase a golf package will also receive various perks including complimentary pull trolleys for all courses and a customized photography gift commemorating their round on the Old Course. Golf handicap restrictions and terms apply. Learn more at the St Andrews website.

American Express has a long-standing history in golf dating back to 1958, when it was a broadcast cosponsor of one of the four major championships. The partnership with St Andrews Links Trust builds on American Express’ global sports portfolio and expands opportunities for Card Members to enjoy what matters most to them – golf, travel and premium experiences. Beyond the partnership with St Andrews Links Trust, Scotland is a destination for nearly 20 properties in American Express’ premium hotel programs - Fine Hotels + Resorts® and The Hotel Collection - at which all eligible Consumer and Business Platinum Card® Members can enjoy even more of their Amex Membership when they book their stay through Amex Travel™. #SmallScreenScenes #ScotlandPeachy #MurderMysteryMay Psychological Thriller Drama, Summerwater, Highly Recommended by Whom You Know Premieres Monday, May 25 Exclusively on Acorn TV in the U.S. and Canada

Produced by Freedom Scripted in Association with All3Media International

Based on Sarah Moss’ Best-Selling Novel, the Six-Part Series Stars Shirley Henderson, Dougray Scott and Valene Kane and is Written and Created by BAFTA Award Nominee John Donnelly (The Pass)

AMC Global Media’s Acorn TV, the leading streamer for compelling international crime dramas and murder mysteries, today announced that the thrilling and compulsive six-part drama, Summerwater, based on Sarah Moss’ The Sunday Times’ Top Ten novel, is premiering on Monday, May 25, exclusively on Acorn TV in the U.S. and Canada. Additional episodes will drop weekly on Mondays on the platform. Written and created for television by BAFTA Award-nominated John Donnelly (The Assessment, Utopia, The Pass), the suspenseful series stars Shirley Henderson (Dept. Q, The Nest, Happy Valley), Dougray Scott (Sherlock & Daughter, Vigil, The Crow Girl) and Valene Kane (Say Nothing, Gangs of London, The Fall).

It is extremely well-written, intelligently developed, and executed at a high level by an All-Star cast of actors you have probably never heard of before but are absolutely deserving of your attention. As each episode unravels you will discover yourself wrapped up in the mystery of this Scotland summer venue for vacationers that is nowhere like you have probably gone on vacation.  Weaved in intrigue, Summerwater will capture your mind and curiosity with characters that you have no choice but to give your strict attention to to find out what's going to happen next. We also commend the storytelling from different perspectives that adds such richness to this series. We also like the font they use especially with the letter w.

Emotionally charged from every angle, Summerwater will surprise you with plot twists and character development that take risk, entertain, and make you think.  Places matter. And your history at that place matters.

The series’ launch is part of Acorn TV’s second annual Murder Mystery May, kicking off Friday, May 1, with new series premieres every week. The popular, month-long programming event celebrates the breadth of Acorn TV, showcasing the world’s best mysteries ranging from fan-favorite whodunits to quirky sleuths to diabolical thrillers.

At a Scottish cabin resort enduring unpredictable weather, the residents of Summerwater attempt to escape life’s problems in the serenity of isolation. Far from a relaxing retreat, Summerwater turns out to be a mysterious, all-knowing place, where residents are confronted with their deepest desires and darkest truths. Weaving together the lives of several families, as they are observed closely from their disparate cabins, Summerwater shows how the simmering tensions between vacationers leads to a devastating climax.

A thrilling and compulsive drama about relationships, sex, class, and not being able to escape yourself, Summerwater is a surreal world that takes the viewer on a journey of wit, heart, and tragedy. An unflinching yet empathetic look at human nature across generations, Summerwater provides a riveting portrait of the divided nation that is modern Britain. The series features additional cast members Daniel Rigby (I, Jack Wright), Gabriel Scott (House of the Dragon), Anna Próchniak (Showtrial) and Arnas Fedaravičius (The White Lotus).

Summerwater is written and created for television by BAFTA Award-nominated John Donnelly and is directed by BAFTA Award-nominated Robert McKillop (Guilt, Ludwig) and Fiona Walton (Rebus, Shetland). The series is produced by Freedom Scripted in association with All3Media International who are the show’s global partner, with the support of Screen Scotland. Mike Ellen is the Executive Producer for Freedom and Jules Hussey is the Series Producer.

Summerwater is highly recommended by Whom You Know and it is one of the best things you can see this season.

#ScotlandPeachy Scotland Lights Up Brisbane with Iconic Tartan @visitscotnews @VisitScotland

A bold cultural showcase sparks travel to Scotland in 2026

Scotland brings its iconic tartan and cultural heritage to the Southern Hemisphere as part of a global invitation to visit in 2026. With the Commonwealth Games taking place in Glasgow this year, alongside major new attractions, Scotland is stepping into the international spotlight.
VisitScotland_Brisbane_Tartan

Scotland paints Brisbane tartan
As The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo prepares to take centre stage in Brisbane and Auckland, VisitScotland has illuminated the historic pillars of Brisbane City Hall with the Tattoo tartan. The striking display celebrates Scotland's deep-rooted traditions and cultural pride, creating a moment of connection with Australia.

Marking its 75th anniversary, the Tattoo brings massed pipes and drums, military precision and contemporary storytelling to audiences in Australia and New Zealand, having captivated more than 100 million people worldwide.

Why Scotland in 2026?
With global attention on Scotland in 2026, travellers are encouraged to look beyond postcard moments and discover a destination evolving in exciting new ways. New and reimagined experiences launching across the country include The Inverness Castle Experience, the reopening of Paisley Museum, a transformed Calanais Standing Stones Visitor Centre on the Isle of Lewis, and landmark exhibitions in Glasgow and Dundee.

Scotland is closely aligned with the travel preferences of Australian and New Zealand visitors, who are increasingly seeking wellbeing–focused, community–minded and immersive experiences. This growing appetite for wellness, noctourism and slow travel is reflected across the country from floating saunas on Highland lochs to new dark sky observatories in southern Scotland.

The Tattoo's visit to Australia and New Zealand provides a platform for VisitScotland to connect with local partners and promote Scotland as a must-visit destination. Jill Walker, Director of Marketing at VisitScotland, said: "The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo is a globally recognised symbol of Scotland's culture and a compelling platform to engage audiences in Australia and New Zealand. Alongside these high–profile cultural moments, we are working closely with media, travel trade and partners to showcase the breadth of Scotland's visitor offer and encourage future travel."

Australia also shares a longstanding connection with Scotland through whisky, craftsmanship and storytelling. The country was Johnnie Walker's first major export market in the 1870s, a legacy continuing to draw Australian travellers to Scotland.

Dining out in 2026: Brits Embrace Group Gatherings, Happy Hour and Retro Classics

OpenTable reveals its annual Top 100 Restaurants in the UK for 2025, alongside its key 2026 dining trends

OpenTable, a global leader in restaurant technology, has revealed its annual Top 100 Restaurants in the UK list alongside its 2026 dining trends. With dining in the UK up 4% year-over-year (YoY) in 2025,* and Brits set to dine out on average six times a month in 2026,** dining out is on the menu for the year ahead and restaurants are front and centre. Gen Z are particularly enthusiastic, planning to dine out nine times a month, second only to Millennials at ten.**

The dining trends that shaped 2025 and what's on the menu for 2026, based on OpenTable data and consumer research:

The more the merrier: Almost half of diners (44%) say they'd prefer eating with others over going solo in 2026.** Group dining also grew by 5% in 2025 YoY,* with the most popular days for group dining on Mother's Day weekend and major sporting events, including rugby matches.* Looking ahead, the appetite for togetherness shows no sign of slowing down, with more than a third (36%) of Brits wanting to see more group and private dining in 2026.** OpenTable's new private and group dining marketplace is helping to make those shared moments even easier to plan and enjoy.

Happy hour and strategic spenders: Brits are also adjusting how and when they dine. In 2025, dining between 4pm–5pm rose by 6% YoY.* When it comes to spending, nearly half (49%) of Brits plan to spend more on dining out in 2026 vs 2025, rising to 70% of Gen Z and Millennials.** Despite this, 54% of Brits want to see more happy hours and value promotions in 2026.**

"Dining has become about far more than what's on the plate this year. It's about connection and creating unforgettable moments together, with new research showing that 79% of Brits say eating out helps them feel more connected to others,**" said Sasha Shaker, Senior Director at OpenTable in the UK and Ireland. "With Brits set to dine out six times a month on average in 2026, we're confident that restaurants will remain at the heart of the UK's social scene in the year ahead.**"

Bold flavours and retro favourites: When it comes to taste, 2026 is shaping up to be a year that blends global cuisines with nostalgia. Mediterranean (+35%), Greek (+27%) and Contemporary Asian (+21%) cuisines saw the biggest YoY dining increases in 2025, reflecting a growing appetite for bold, vibrant flavours.* However, nostalgia is also making a comeback, with Gen Z diners championing retro comfort classics like Bangers and Mash and Prawn Cocktail as dishes they'd love to see on menus of restaurants in 2026.**

One of the most surprising food trends for next year? Sharing plates are becoming less popular as 56% of Brits prefer individual servings. Brits expect to see fried chicken, gourmet burgers, protein-packed dishes, and espresso-based drinks taking centre stage in 2026.**

Top 100 Restaurants in the UK for 2025 list

OpenTable's Top 100 Restaurants in the UK 2025 list is here to inspire diners where to eat next and to highlight industry dining trends. The list is compiled by analysing more than 780,000 diner reviews, ratings, reservation demand and percentage of five-star reviews among other factors,*** featuring a list of restaurants perfect for any occasion.

Sasha said: "From exciting new names like Nina in London to much-loved local favourites such as Opheem in Birmingham and Higher Ground in Manchester, the list celebrates the fantastic spots that the UK has to offer. Whether diners are after a happy hour menu, a certain cuisine type or spot for group dining, there's a place to match every taste and occasion."

#SmallScreenScenes #EnglandPeachy #ScotlandPeachy #WalesPeachy @true_crimetv AMC Networks International TRUE CRIME REVEALS LINE-UP OF FIVE ORIGINAL SERIES FOR AUTUMN 2025

TRUE CRIME, the UK’s top destination for factual crime programming, part of the joint venture between AMC Networks International – UK and Paramount Global, is introducing a new season of original content this autumn with three premiere series and two returning favourites. The autumn line-up presents a wide spectrum of crime-focused investigations, from forensic breakthroughs and police procedure to psychological profiling and evolving investigative techniques.

Launching the season is “Body in the Water“, premiering on 16th September. Produced by Yeti TV, the series uncovers the complexities of murder cases in which the victim’s body is found in water – often far from the original crime scene. Whether used to stage an accident, destroy evidence, or serve as a deposition site, water makes processing a crime scene infinitely more difficult. From tidal movement to trace evidence loss, each case presents a forensic puzzle.

With insights from divers, forensic pathologists, tidal experts, criminal psychologists, episodes follow the first-hand accounts of detectives who followed the evidence to uncover the truth. Real-life cases include those of Barry Wallace, Evelyn Lund, and Scott Wilkinson – in which water obscured the crime, but investigators were undeterred. One of the key experts featured in the series is TRUE CRIME regular contributor Dr Richard Shepherd, a world-renowned forensic pathologist. The premiere coincides with the launch of his new stage show, Time of Death – More Unnatural Causes.

Next is “Murder: Point of Contact“, a powerful and unique new series examining the role of Family Liaison Officers (FLOs) in murder investigations – an area rarely explored as the sole focus of a TV series. Featuring the Stephen Lawrence case with first-hand accounts from Dr Neville Lawrence OBE and former DC Fiona Wright, who supported the Lawrence family as their FLO, the series shines a light on a role that bridges families and investigations.

The series explores landmark cases and reveals how the FLO role has become a cornerstone of modern policing following the Stephen Lawrence Inquiry, offering a nuanced view of how families and police navigate the aftermath of murder together. “Murder: Point of Contact” is produced by Phoenix and airs from 17th September.

Premiering on 5th October, the previously announced “Murder in Mind” is produced by Back2Back in partnership with FilmRise, a Radial Entertainment company, and Blue Ant Studios. Hosted by leading criminal psychologists Dr Julia Shaw and Kerry Daynes, the series digs into the mental and emotional forces that drive individuals to kill.

Blending expert analysis with archival material and case interviews, each episode dissects the internal and external factors that led to a murder, providing viewers with deeper context and understanding of criminal behaviour.

Returning this autumn on 18th September, is “Bloodline Detectives” (Season 6), the series that explores how Forensic Investigative Genetic Genealogy is unlocking unsolved murders. By tracing suspects through family DNA networks and advanced forensic databases, the series demonstrates how new science is rewriting the rules for cold case investigations. “Bloodline Detectives” was produced by Peninsula Television.

Also back is “Murder UK” (Season 2), hosted by Emeritus Professor David Wilson, one of the UK’s leading criminologists, and produced by FirstLookTV. This compelling series investigates British murder cases, combining expert analysis, in-depth reconstructions, and access to those closest to the case. Professor Wilson guides viewers through the facts, forensic findings, and investigative process behind each crime, offering unique insights drawn from his decades of academic and field experience. Each episode provides a fresh perspective on how justice was served in some of the country’s most disturbing and complex cases. The series includes the harrowing case of Andrew Innes, who murdered 25-year-old Bennylyn Burke and her daughter in Dundee, Scotland, after meeting the mother online, and revisits the chilling crimes of the UK’s most prolific serial killer, Dr. Harold Shipman. Season 2 of “Murder UK” premieres on 22nd September.

Sam Rowden, VP of Content, AMC Networks International – UK, said:

“This autumn, we’re launching a distinctive range of original series that explore both the personal and professional sides of criminal investigation, offering fresh and compelling perspectives on crime. Murder: Point of Contact provides a rare look at the emotional challenges faced by Family Liaison Officers, while Body in the Water examines the unique barriers presented by aquatic crime scenes. With Murder in Mind, we delve into the complex psychological elements alongside two leading forensic psychologists. Paired with the return of audience favourites like Murder UK and Bloodline Detectives, this line-up strengthens our commitment to delivering insightful, expertly produced true crime programming.”

All five original series will premiere on TRUE CRIME throughout Autumn 2025, with episodes available to stream on WATCH FREE UK following linear broadcast, and via TRUE CRIME UK on ITVX.

#SmallScreenScenes #ScotlandPeachy #KarenPirie on #BritBox Recommended by #PeachyDeegan @ManhattanPeachy @BritBox_US #BBC #America

An absolutely beautiful setting for a show is St. Andrews, Scotland and it is surprising that it's not used more often. A brand new smash hit from Britbox, Karen Pirie, takes place there and young Karen precociously takes on a case that has been resurfaced from the past and applies her genius. The acting, the editing and the producing is better than the script, which could be tighter and more unique.

A word of advice to Karen: do not hook up with men you work with! Nine out of ten murders are committed by men...and it seems few have been investigated by women. Female cops are not just optics-just ask Mariska.

Trauma can have a ripple effect...Karen's honest, fresh, earnest and determined nature are truly a celebration of youth and talent combined and she makes an excellent role model for young girls. Not only is this a hit, but also it shows women genuinely helping other women which sadly can be quite rare in the professional world.

May we suggest a Season 2? We look forward to more from these emerging talents.

Karen Pirie is Recommended by Whom You Know

Adapted by Emer Kenny from the celebrated crime writer's best-selling series of novels, the drama centers on DS Karen Pirie, a truly contemporary and brilliant young Scottish detective with a quick mouth and tenacious desire for the truth. In this opening story, based on the first Karen Pirie novel A Distant Echo, newly promoted Karen is tasked with reopening a murder investigation that has been the subject of a controversial true crime podcast. When teenage barmaid Rosie Duff was found brutally murdered in a St. Andrew's graveyard in 1996, suspicion fell on the three students who discovered her body. But with a lack of forensic evidence, no charges were brought and the investigation floundered. Twenty-five years on, someone is willing to risk everything to keep the secrets surrounding the case hidden. DO the three men know more than they previously revealed? How flawed was the original investigation? And can Karen uncover the truth of what happened to Rosie that fateful night?

BRITS LOVE THEIR NATIONAL TEA BREW...and P.S. So Do Americans Says Peachy Deegan Even If Sometimes It Can Be Fun to Dump In Boston Harbor

But Many Get A Fail For Barking Up The Wrong 'Tea' Says A New Tea Census Research Study And Report Launched To Mark International Tea Day On 21st May

Most Brits are pretty clued up on their tea facts, reveals a new Tea Census Study1 and Report – 'From Plant to Cup: There's more to a cup of tea than meets the eye' – from the UK Tea & Infusions Association (UKTIA).

Nearly seven in 10 Brits know that tea is made from the leaves of the tea plant, and most can name several tea-producing countries. More than six in 10 appreciate that tea leaves have to go through drying, rolling and chopping before ending up in our cup. A brainy half correctly say that tea is tested for quality throughout its production.

But when it comes to certain facts, Britain's army of tea drinkers needs to go back to the classroom. Chief Executive of the UK Tea & Infusions Association (UKTIA), Dr Sharon Hall, says: "As a nation of tea lovers, we know plenty of stuff about tea such as where it comes from, how it's made and the benefits it brings to our day."

"But we are still barking up the wrong 'tea' on key facts such as the differences between green and black teas. More than half (55%) of the nation claim wrongly they come from different plants and four in 10 (43%) believe green tea is picked in summer while black tea is picked in winter."

"A third (32%) reckon green tea is only made in Japan, while a similar group (33%) think that green tea looks that way because it contains a colouring."

"Even though most folk are on the ball about their national tea brew, a minority still think that regular black tea is made from fruit, vegetables, fungus, bark or roots, or even that it comes from a laboratory – which is all nonsense."

The new UKTIA report – 'From Plant to Cup: There's more to a cup of tea than meets the eye' – also looked in detail at the care taken at each step of the process from tea plant to tea pot. Amazing facts from this report include:Our love of tea started when Charles II married Portuguese princess and tea lover, Catherine of Braganza.
The first shipment of tea from China arrived in 1664 to quench the thirst of wealthy Londoners.
Today, we import around 100,000 metric tons of tea each year to provide for the one hundred million cups a day we drink in the UK.
Tea is grown in more than 60 countries around the world; some is even grown in the UK and on the Channel Island of Jersey.
It can take 15 years to get from tea plant seedling to actually harvesting the leaves for a cuppa.
Huge driers – a bit like hairdryers inside tunnels – are used to get the moisture content of tea leaves down to 3-4%. This is crucial for keeping tea fresh in your kitchen cupboard.

Dr Sharon Hall adds: "Many of us take tea for granted but there really is an amazing back story to how this humble leaf ends up in our teabags or tea pots."

"The type of tea enjoyed most in the UK is strong and robust, typically drunk with milk and brewed using a teabag. To create this flavour profile, tea leaves have to be cut more finely using something resembling a mincing machine called a CTC (cut, tear, curl)."

"Tea tasting is also vital to produce the 'British taste'. Just like for wine, the expert tea tasters will slurp the brew to bring in air, swish it around the mouth, and spit it out to evaluate the flavour. It's a very strict process."

"In fact, there are agreed standards on tasting methods, terminology and even the crockery used to make the brew to ensure everyone around the world is assessing quality the same way."

"As our report shows, tea production is a highly complex process but thankfully all we need to do is stick on the kettle, boiling just the water you need, grab a teabag, pour the water and sit back to enjoy a lovely, warming cuppa."

How to make a perfect brew

Want to know what makes the best brew? UKTIA's Dr Sharon Hall has put together a few simple steps to help ensure you make the best brew this International Tea Day and beyond:Use a good quality teabag or loose-leaf tea and store your tea in a cool, dry place.
Avoid storing tea next to strongly flavoured or perfumed foods.
Always use freshly drawn water and consider using a water filter. Dr Sharon Hall explains, "In some parts of the country the tap water is hard or soft and this can affect the taste of the tea."
Use one teabag or one rounded teaspoon of loose tea for each cup or mug.
Smart boil. Using your mug, measure out just the water you need for one or two cuppas and only boil that.
Dr Sharon Hall notes; "This will help save on energy costs and will ensure a good flavour tea which develops best when made with freshly boiled water. The lack of oxygen bubbles in re-boiled water can give the tea a flat taste."
Allow the tea to brew for the recommended time before pouring. Always read the instructions on the pack and if you're brewing tea from a bag in a mug, adding milk last is best.
Most black teas should be brewed for three to four minutes, while Lapsang Souchong black tea tastes best after four to five minutes. Brew green tea for three to four minutes and oolong tea for three to five minutes, depending on your strength preference.
Remove the bag after brewing, before adding the milk.
Put your feet up, relax and enjoy.
